Air stats
- Air pollution is believed to cause 527,700 fatalities a year.
- The number of premature deaths from air pollution have multiplied by six in the last 10 years.
- Between 2005-2010 the cities with low level of pollution has fallen from 10 to 2 and the number of critically polluted cities have increased from 49 to 89 cities. In 2005 about 75% of cities exceeded the standard. In 2010, a total of 78% of cities are exceeding the standard.
- A standard petrol-vehicle is expected to emit over 800 grams of carbon dioxide per day just while idling. This is about 1.92 tons of carbon dioxide being admitted by one vehicle every year.
- Over 700 million people in India suffer from high levels of indoor air pollution.

- Diarrhea kills 150,000 children every day and water related diseases kill a child every 15 seconds.
- Nearly 2 million Indian children die under five each day and that is the highest number all over the world.
